Do you ever find yourself daydreaming of sitting beside a large, floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace inside a majestic, winter chalet with a warm fire crackling, and getting all cozy with a seasonal brew in your hand?
How about the one where you’re lounging outside on a wooden deck next to a sparkling blue lake on a glorious summer day enjoying the breeze tickling the leaves as it gently passes through the surrounding trees all while sipping an ice cold, refreshing beer?Yeah… I’m right there with you… at Hamburg Brewing Company!
Located less than 30 minutes from downtown Buffalo, NY just off the 219 Southern Expressway is where you’ll find Hamburg Brewing Company at 6553 Boston State Rd
Hamburg, NY 14075. There is one sign out front on the lawn next to the road, but if you’re not carefully watching for it, you can easily drive by. This, of course, is spoken from personal experience!
Once inside, you’ll pass through a short maze of hallways, one of which has windows that offer a glimpse into their impressive brewing facility. If you’re interested in touring the production and bottling of Hamburg Brews, you’re in luck! They offer tours on a first come, first serve basis for a nominal, per person fee on both Saturdays and Sundays starting at 1:00pm. The tour also includes an up close look at HBC’s model replica of the Hamburg-Colorado Railroad, one of Western New York’s largest model train sets, featuring over 800 feet of track.
The tasting room, as well as the outdoor patios at Hamburg Brewing Company are expansive giving you plenty of room to roam, especially for large groups. There are flat screen televisions placed unobtrusively around the perimeter of the room so you can catch the score of your favorite sporting event while sampling the varieties of beer they have on tap. You can either order a tasting with a flight of four, or once you’ve decided, a pint, growler, or keg of your favorites like the Hoppenstance, Noble Ginger, Small Town, White Corner, or any others from their impressive list of year-rounds, seasonals, and limited editions. If you’re hungry, HBC also has a nice selection of food on their menu to satisfy those pangs, too.
No matter what the season is, no matter what the reason is, don’t overlook this stunner in the Southtowns. A visit to Hamburg Brewing Company is as close to living out any one of those beer-loving daydreams as any non-brewer, like me, is ever going to get!
